Proper preparation and profound integration are pivotal to the outcome of your journey. To facilitate this, we open our ceremony three weeks before our retreat with a 2.5-hour session. During this time, we meet the group, share important information, and allow time for questions and open discussions. This session also helps our guides in preparing for the ceremony, tailoring the experience for each participant. Following the ceremony, we host another 2-hour session three weeks later to share experiences from the initial period and offer insights on integrating the findings into daily life.

We deliberately work with small groups, with a maximum of 10 people, in order to provide maximum attention to each individual. Our team always consists of one ceremony leader and two experienced space holders.

The setting of our ceremonies involves a combination of shamanic ambiance, rituals, and energy work with a therapeutic approach. Participating individuals are encouraged to spend as much time as possible on their mattresses with closed eyes, as the true journey occurs internally. We provide therapeutic guidance before, during, and after the ceremony and incorporate several shamanic elements such as an altar, smudging, herbs, and chanting. Our ceremonies also involve singing, dancing, and providing energetic healings whenever necessary or supportive. Our guides are comprehensively trained to support participants at all levels.

With Alamyn, we prioritize high quality not only in our service but also in ensuring a lasting impact for our participants. Integration is a crucial aspect of the journey, and in our experience, most individuals tend to rush back to their daily lives after a weekend ceremony, missing the important liminal state post-ceremony. The medicine is often still active for three days, and how these days are spent is crucial. Our integration day, included in the retreat, offers attention and time for this initial period and is designed to help stimulate participants to extend their integration period by ending our retreats before the weekend begins.

There are three key things to reflect on before starting a plant medicine journey.

1. Is it the right time in your life? The use of plant medicine is a process, not a one-day event. It can unveil numerous opportunities that require dedicated time and attention to integrate. There is no rush when engaging with plant medicine.
2. Are you open to personal growth and prepared to take on the responsibility for your own integration? These medicines serve as an unfiltered mirror, reflecting profound truths. This process often demands self-responsibility to navigate and harness its lessons for personal transformation.
3. Are you truly experiencing a calling, or are you in the midst of spiritual addiction? Both of our founders initially entered the field of working with plant medicines through ayahuasca. However, as ayahuasca is currently illegal in the Netherlands, we have chosen to work with psilohuasca, as its spiritual teachings and experiences are very similar and it gives us the opportunity to engage with one component of the ayahuasca medicine. While using psychedelics in a safe and well-prepared environment, and within the limits of the maximum dose, can be very safe, it's important to be aware of any potential contradictions.
